All Primary Reserve recruits receive
Basic Military Qualification (BMQ) training and Soldier
Qualification (SQ) to be a soldier prior to their professional
or trade training.
While most of your training will take place with
the unit, the bulk of the advanced courses will take you
to a variety of locations throughout Canada.
Full-time training
for rank progression can vary from two-week segments to
three months during the summer at training centres at various
locations throughout Canada.
Trades Training
Positions ARE
available in the following trades:
Technicians with civilian certification
such as auto mechanics, may be granted credit for their
civilian training.
Applicants with First Nations heritage may apply for BOLD
EAGLE. This is a partnership between the Canadian Forces
and First Nations groups to provide military training and
a cultural heritage experience.
Sounds good to me. How do I arrange
an appointment?
Officers
Persons who hold a degree or certification
in a particular discipline related to the military role
in which they are employed may be enrolled as an officer
in the Reserves.
Those who qualify may apply for direct
enrollment as officers in the following:

or Finance)

Branch
For some post-secondary students, there
is a program that provides summer employment and part-time
opportunities during the school year.
I think I have what it takes. How do
I find out more?
